Boycott 1985 • In 1985, in a principled stand against apartheid, four of the top 10 surfers in the world decided to boycott the South African leg of the world tour. Thirty-seven years later, their decision remains a sore point to some. Mainly because it was a parting shot from Martin Potter, heir to the Springbok surfing throne and future world champion.
